IMAGINING OUR TOWN

 

The Story Map of Grantham is a creative community project inviting children to reimagine their town through words and pictures. From postcard prompts to playful workshops, children contribute tiny stories and illustrations rooted in local landmarks - real and imagined. These fragments will be woven together by an artist to create a fictional illustrated map that celebrates creativity, place and voice.

 

Below, you'll find examples of children's postcard stories and a sample visual of what the final map might look like. These early mockups give a flavour of the imagination and community spirit we aim to nurture through this project.

The map will be distributed in print to local schools, libraries, and community contacts, and will be available online as a lasting resource.
